Towns & hubs
Every town can have its own payment hub. Its people open their channels to it, and the hub is linked to the market hub, so anyone in any town can pay anyone in another, off chain and by name. A community proposes its town; its members pledge the money they would put in; an operator starts the hub when the town is ready.

Propose your town's hub
A member of a community (a town, a co-op, a club) can propose one hub for it. Proposing moves no money and starts nothing: it puts your town on this page so its people can pledge.

How a town goes live
- Propose. A member proposes the community's hub and which hubs it links to (the market hub by default).
- Pledge. People say how much they would put in their channel. A pledge is a promise written here: no coin moves, nothing is locked, and you can take it back.
- Ready when 5 people pledged at least 5 TXCH together, so a hub would not open for nobody.
- Live when an operator runs the hub with its own money and the NamID registry lists it. This page shows "live" only when the registry says so.
- Then you open your channel to your town's hub and pay anyone, in any linked town, by name. A payment crosses up to four hub links, hub by hub.

Do more towns help? The numbers
From an offline model of the hubs' own rules (a day of a 15-minute-town economy: six payments per person, most of them within the town). Nothing here is live data or a forecast; it shows the shape of the trade-off.
